Izumi Ashizawa Performance

The Blue Rocks is a fusion of traditional Japanese Noh theatre and Greek tragedy with original music and masks. Based on Jason's legendary trip to Colchis, the heroic episode of the Blue Rocks is depicted from the victim's point of view, and suggests that Jason's tragic future derives from his past. The two main characters, Jason and the Spirit of the Blue Rocks, represent new culture/religion and indigenous culture/religion, and indicate an allegorical issue: cultural colisions and battles are the interminable problem in human history that we are still experiencing today.
